I'm failing in my attempt at a 'new years resolution' which was to post more pictures.

My Wife just loaded a bunch to my computer & i think that I'm able to post newer pic's from there , my Album is a different story :BangHead:

This should be a picture of a squashed Minnie , I found under the small rock ledge it hit sometime in July (most likely) 1864. & There is sat until last late Winter.

229.JPG +228.JPG + 230.JPG.

Thanks

Looking now I guess that I should have gotten a picture of the Back-side of the Minnie , it's def, a Union 3 ringer that was firing at a Confederate Cannon position.

Davers.
Nice work. Keep on posting.
I just figured out how to post with the android
, but it turned my photo on the side which I could not fix.

Nice find, save, and pic. of the impacted 3 ringer Dave. Years ago, we found a steep hillside with a rocky face of ledge high up on the hill. As you said at the base of the Rocky face we were finding some of the best impacted bullets We had found. Again as you said, these bullets laid buried just a short distance from where they struck these rocks back in 1864. I had tried to relocate this same hill through the years, but have not had any luck. This was back in the 80's. I'd love to once again find this hilltop to see if there were any left. I hope you and your family had a great Memorial Day and Keep Diggin' History.

Way cool!:headbang:

Thanks Terry .

As you know , such pictures as this need a little imagination added to be appreciated , it was 'Way' better in person. :coffee2:

Sorry DD .
I typed you a longer post that I lost while trying to add a pic, so ....In shorter .
This area is being developed & I was blessed to dig a good few fired Minnie's from this area.

They all tell a story of a time in history .

We had a great Memorial Day hope you did also.

Now to try to add that picture or 2. (first one 'should' be looking down the hillside )?

When you think about it , fired Minnie's do have a little something special added that their dropped cousins do not.

GL Saving some more.

AWESOME!!!

Thanks RustyRelics .

They really are awesome , esp, after I watched the movie 'Class of 1861' yesterday . I learned & realized many things I have forgotten about the Men who fired these rounds , so long but not really so long ago .
