When I started in March I had a goal of 50 silver coins and 200 Wheat cents. I got there earlier than I had planned and decided to keep digging, but I didn't set any new goals. As time went by, I started getting close to 100 and then I began to want it pretty bad. I don't think I'll have many seasons like this one and I'd like to be able to say, at least once, that I had a 100 silver coin season. So the last couple of weeks I've been going out almost every day trying to get there. I had about a 10 day streak of no silver, but on Sunday I got two dimes that took me to 98. Yesterday I found a 42 War nickel and only needed one more. I got it today. It was just a common 1949 Rosie, but I sure was glad to see that silver in the hole. It's starting to get pretty chilly here in Idaho and I don't like detecting with a coat, so my season is coming to an end. Even if today's dime is the last one for the season, I'll be completely satisfied with the results. This is my second year detecting and the first that I've found any silver. I switched to an E-trac late last year and then got a CTX3030 in May this year. I think it made a world of difference. Here's a pic of silver #100 and the entire 100 coins. The mangled coin near the bottom of the group photo is a Merc that must have run up against a lawn mower or something. The bottom three coins are a British shilling, a Canadian dime and a Swiss franc. Thanks for looking and I hope you were successful if you got out today.
