:icon_thumright: Looks like it's with the Army Corps Of Engineers, but I haven't been able to locate one like it. Could it be an early one? Also, I think it may not be a button, but a pin. If you look at the back view carefully you can see what I mean. It's one piece, and appears to be made out of brass, could it be a hat/ coat/ Bridle pin? How old is the Army Corp Of Engineers anyway.... Pre-WW2?

Corp of engineers dates back to 1775. The first formal establishment dates from 1779. It was mustered out in1783.
In 1794 Congress partially revived the corp making it a part of the Corps of Artillery. In 1812 they further increased the size of the Corps.

It seems to match this WWI screw back collar disc. Company A?
