Found my first button today on an old farm in Massachusetts 20180516_152917.webp20180516_153022.webp20180516_152939.webp20180516_152917.webp20180516_153022.webp20180516_152939.webp. On the back it says "Warranted Treble Gilt" around the edge with an eagle on a branch in the center.
Any one have any info on the time period or what these buttons were used for?

Plain front one piece brass flat buttons were used primarily on civilian clothing - circa 1810-1830.

The eagle dates it to the 1820s or thereabouts.
