Hi everyone. This morning I hunted a local farm and found enough items that I'm wondering about to justify a "What Is it?" post, I think. Here goes:

Item #1 - Obviously it's a button, but is it a Tombac button? At first I thought it was (I've found four or five, and this farm has produced 1700's items before). But as I cleaned it off it didn't have the typical shine of a tombac. And the shank's mounting method is a little different than others I've seen (I've found two spun-back tombacs before, but this looks different). Thoughts on Item #1? My thoughts: it's a tombac spun-back but older/poorer quality.

Item #2 - this looks like some sort of rosette to me. The material it's connected through/to is hard, another metal I think (not leather). The back seems to show a square nut holding it on, so it's probably not that old. Penny for scale.
Your thoughts on Item #2?

Item #3 - no idea what this little thing is, but it has a rivet through it that would have connected it onto something else. From the construction maybe early 20th century? (Side note: I thought I had a coin with this one....)

Item #4 - it looks like some sort of connector rod to me, but I can't guess what for. The green patina throws me...why use copper/brass? The two pieces came apart but would not have in use. Early tractor part?
