I am trying to get ID on some of the relics dug last night. Other than the spoon, leather rivets and "D" buckle, I have no idea. One thing looks like it might have had a gauge such as from an early automobile?

The other item is one of two found, and appears to be some type of clasp?

The third item is the one that really has me stumped. I have found a few of these before in different fields. It is a heavy rectangular piece of metal with two parallel lines across one side. Does anyone have a clue on this?

The other item with the Indian headdress is about 1.5 inches tall. Maybe part of a pendant?

What you describe as a spoon looks like a small shovel to remove coals from a fireplace to me, but hard to tell with no size comparison :icon_scratch:

The bottom right looks like its from a valise. (leather bag--I dont know if I spelled that correctly) It appears to have 2 rivets where it may have attached to a leather strap. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,316538.0.html

Bottom item almost looks like a Fleur De Lis.

Could the auto gauge thing be a tail light ring?

Could the 2 lined item be a weight?

It is a large spoon, either a soup spoon or a serving spoon. Marked "Rogers Nickel Silver" Circa mid 1800's.

There has been a debate on that, some say its a bustia (SP)...the deal that goes around a womans midsection,or off of a carpet bag.

Neil..Are the two things you called leather rivets the ones that look like sewing machine bobbin spools?
I beleive people are not grasping the size of the items? It is a rivet and the "D",buckle is WAY too small to be from a cinch

Aah gee, darn size thing. There goes saddle cinch, small shovel, tail light ring, bobbins, and Big Cys' carpet bag thing now may become a dead potato bug.

Actually I think Cy's right about that lower right item being half of a strap connection from Valise maybe. I was referring to the picture he posted for some reason it looked like a dead potato bug. Guess it's time for my nap.

:hello:

If the bar on the Buckle is offset, it's proberbly a Harness Buckle :read2:

If those bobbins are rivets, the 2 rivets in the valise bag strap thingy are tiny.

The item in the center bottom of the picture might be a apothecary weight.

The piece with the 2 lines looks like a print font. Look one one end and see if there is a letter. If not it was used for a space. I have dug quite a few but don't have any handy to scan right now but will tomorrow if you like. The key hole looking thing at the bottom is to a dress or something. they are really small and I've found them on thin tin strips. The most I have found one one strip is 8. when on the strips they look like hooks for a dress of girdle or something like that.

I think those 2 things are old bobbins, not anything else. (can't tell the other stuff without something for size).

:hello:

The square thing at the bottom could be a balance weight for a fan :)
