Thanks everyone, that gave me many smiles. It's exactly what I was thinking. She leads a really boring life with a low paying coporate job, comes home to sit in front of the t.v. while she pretends to like the football/golf/basketball that her boyfriend watches. What a horrid life. I love mine and I'm not going to feel bad about it, at least until the next time she comes back. But probably not then cause I'll have that neat coin or ring to shove up her nose! And all of my first finds cheering me on. You guys . Sara

perhaps you could take a very high road, forgive her comments, and introduce her to our hobby! seduce her with some nice finds then hook her when she makes her first nice one(maybe plant one for her to find!) hehe! Make a convert out of her!(then call her a Wierdo! just kidding!) 8)

Always be proud of who you are, no matter what she or anyone says about you. They can never take away you're pride, that is who you are. So be proud of YOU.
And like several others have said, show her our hobby. Maybe she needs a little get away for herself, and there is no better way. Happy Hunting. Joe

Sara, I just read your last post and look at this a little different than most of our other fellow detectorist. Your sister-in-law is bitter and nothing you do will change that. She is too far gone to be retrieved back into the fold. First she is obviously jealous of you and your outgoing personality and probably the fact that you are happily married and she is trying to con her oblivious boyfriend into her own marriage trap so she has someone to make miserable on a full-time basis. Theres an old saying that " there are some things and some people you just can't help" I know most people on this forum and are great people with positive attitudes and it goes against our grain when we run into a bitter person but have fun and if she doesn't shut up take her fishing and bring an extra anchor
