Hello my fellow Tnet-ers,

I haven't posted in a bit, but today I went out to the spot and recovered a few goodies... I'm also posting a few other finds I found the past couple weeks, same place and forgot to post. Last week an El Paso Texas 1949 bicycle badge/tag, a 1944 merc, El Paso and San Diego trolly tokens, WWI USAF sterling Pilot's Propeller Wings.

Also, found a Merc dime punched stamped with a Victorian female face. At first I thought it was aluminum but a closer look revealed it to be a Merc dime. Has anyone seen something like this before? It looks like it was probably made into jewelry.

Yesterday, I was out for about 1hr and got a jumpy signal and uncovered to my surprise a huge ring. Well, I tried cleaning it with electrolysis thinking it was silver but instead it brought out a mix of copper and silver color out of it. I should have know it wasn't silver when I couldn't find a stamp and part of the top fell off and a small decorative eagle from the side also fell off. [emoji20]

And today, I found a couple marbles and military buttons. This place and I know I said it before is getting harder and harder to find anything... Enjoy the pics

The punched-out coin is a rare find.. awesome job by you. great finds overall.

really nice bunch of relics

Great Finds...Nice Pics as well

Things maybe getting harder to find but you keep pulling them out! Nice finds!
Dime is really cool with the face on it. You scored silver wings too awesome!

What a honey hole ! I can hardly believe the number of emblems and badges that you constantly pull out of there - doesn't that
strike you as quite weird ? to be finding that many varieties of badges , emblems, militaria , all metallic symbols of professional
association or accomplishment ! I seriously believe that someone may have discarded a massive collection of these items .
I think it defies belief that such a concentration of these would end up in any single area other wise . I'm super interested to
hear your theory about this !!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers .

Very nice finds, looks like someone made a button out of that merc dime...

Cool finds, I like those wings along with that other cool stuff.

I think those are called "pop out coins". I want to say they did those back in the 20s and up. Go to Ebay and look For it.

What the________________ ? Nice assortment of relics you got there like the lead soldier on the horse and the belt buckle , is there anything on it? The bicycle badge is really neat.vanzutphen

Thanks guys, the buckle is plain and the tank button is my first.

This particular area was an old Ft. Bliss dump site used between the early 1900's and mid 50's... A lot of the stuff we find here, from military buttons to foreign coins.

The dump is separated by businesses and empty lots, 5 to 10 acres spots spread out in a half mile. Unfortunately there's been a lot of construction in the are so this place won't last.

I hope everyone enjoy all the pics. I've started the hobby in 2012 and became an instant addict. It's a hell of way to clear ones mind and equally exciting and adrenaline pump, at least to me as hooking a fish.... You Got to Love It! Thanks to my buddy car91rs AKA Chris for introducing me to the hobby and showing me what it's all about....

Cool finds.. We flew into Ft.Bliss for a night on our way to Ca. That was a rough night drinking across the boarder.

The popped merc looks like it was a ring at one point, can see the weld marks in the back. Very cool!

Nice pop-up Texas! They are truly a work of art.
