A brass what's it . UPDATE !! Samurai Sword

I found this brass item today . I have no clue what it is . It was at 10 inches at a local school here in San Jose , California . HELP !!! I have posted it in the "what's it " also .

Well I got an ID . It turns out to be the end piece of a Samurai Sword handle . I would have never got that . Thank you !

i read/heard that after WWII there were more samurai swords in the states than in japan....sovenier hungry soldiers brought em home after the war...cool find...hh
