I was granted a few hours of detecting today, since it was lightly raining I thought what a great day for the beach.? Thought I would have the beach to myself but when I drove up to it, there were about 60 teenagers having a volley ball championship/Grill party, fortunately, there was a tall row of hedges that divided us so I got to detect in peace most of the time.? After an hour of finding some clad Euro coins and two rings, one ring is made in Mexico 925 silver, the teeny boppers came over and asked what I was doing.? By now it quit raining, the sun came out and so did the bikinis so I had no problem showing off my finds, LOL!? Here?s the finds, I thought it was good for two hours at a small beach.? About $17.70 in USD, 5 Two Euro coins at $2.40 per coin adds up quick and the two rings.? Lower right is a lead fishing sinker.
I?ve done several hunts over the past few weeks, here?s the obverse of a few old and silver coins I found in the fields.? Top left copper is a Heller probably dated around late 1700s to early 1800s, lower left copper with the Orb is unknown but the type and features of the coin tell me it?s around the 1600s as it also has a ?Z1? on the reverse.? I?ve seen them in books but haven?t researched it yet.? Top right is an 1874 silver 20 Pfenning and the lower right looks like an 1824 silver 1 Kreuzer from King Ludwig the first, the father of the crazy King Ludwig who Disney modeled the castle from.
The reverse of the coins, the ?Z1? is at the top of the coat of arms on that old copper.? HH and thanks for looking, Mike
A picture of the small beach, only takes about two hours to hunt it.
