I saw this baby when we walked inside a local Salvation Army. Hard to believe what can catch one’s eye from 50 feet away. I walked over to it, picked it up thinking that it couldn’t be real. I turned it over saw that they had polished it looking to see if there was a silver mark. They didn’t think to look on the lip. The grand price for this ……99 cents.
I took it recently to an antique store to see how old it was. The lady said it was made between 1880 -1890 in China for export, also said that it was a powder box. She told me that if she were to put it for sale at her shop she would ask around $850 for it.
I just look at is as a lucky 99 cent find.
