Found this silver ring at a house dating to about 1915. It hit pretty bright (89) on an F5 and was 2-3 inches down...not at all deep in a yard where I find zinc pennies still a little shiny at 6-8 inches.
The ring is not at all remarkable except that it's clearly stamped ".92"...not 925. I'm wondering; is .92 silver significant in terms of dating the item? An obsolete alloy, maybe? ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1491355230.961383.jpg

If I'm not mistaken .92 is also sometimes marked S92, both indicating 92% silver, and these are European marks.

Great find. That's a nice piece of silver.....
