I know where I was that fateful Tuesday morning.

We all started in a normal fashion trying to get our day started.
For the most part, a beautiful day.

I would like to remember it that way,
but some heartless, Godless, Mindless scum of the earth murderers took that day and chose to make anyone of their race suspect in my eyes .....forever

Remembering the victims of this tragedy.
This day ...
and always.

This day I shall never forget!
I think about all the brave souls who were innocent victims, the folks who over took the terrorists that hi-jacked the airplane.
I think about the brave firefighters and police that helped rescue victims in the towers and the Pentagon.
I shall not forget our brave soldiers who give us our freedom, here and afar.

It was put into perspective best for me today,
by an 11 year old who lost his Dad very shortly after 9,11 in Afghanistan.
Speaking at one our local remembrances, he said...

"I Miss you Dad, What you did for me lets me be An American, and cry American tears."

After a statement like that I have no words.

It doesn't seem like 7 years since that horrible day.
I find my heart still grieves the same when I see images of those buildings.
I can only imagine the pain and grief others who knew someone must still feel.
My prayers and heart goes out to them. May we never see another day such as this.

I will never forget that awful day. I remember where I was, and the sight I saw, bought me to my knees in horror. My heart goes out to all who lost a love one. I'll also never forget all our Hero's who worked to the point of collapse trying to save lives and recover the bodies of our fallen.

Gods Speed,
Pepper

I remember where I was that day, I was having surgery. When they rolled me out I could hear one of the nurses say " It's so terrible, and a shame that it happened." I thought they were referring to me. Still under the influence, I tried to sit up, and ask what they had done to me. Two nurses grab me, and told me what had happened. Just as they were helping me into my bed, the second jet, flew in to the other tower. I'll never forget seeing that on the television.
I hope no one ever forgets that day, and all of the innocent people that lost their lives, the lives that were ruined, and always, remember the hero's.
God Bless America!
Leon

I am patiently waiting for the day when I can say I remember where I was when I heard an American Soldier put a full clip from his M-16 into Bin Laden chest. Now that that's a day I want live real soon.

I always wondered how my parents could remember where they were at when JFK was killed... Now I know.
May God continue to bless the families, the rescuers, and our armed forces at home and abroad.

We must never forget that day, never.

I will NEVER forget that day.

I was away from home, working in Montgomery, Pennsylvania. My sons and daughter were at home in Va Beach with Dad. My boys were only 3 and 6, my daughter was 16.

We arrived at work and someone turned on the tv in the lounge and said, "OH MY GOD! A plane just crashed into the World Trade Tower!"...we all went in and watched in horror. We all thought at first, as many did, it was a plane accident, but as we are watching it and see the second plane plow into the other tower, we all knew that it was a terrorist attack! I remember when the towers were attacked in 1990. When the car bomb was set off in the garage! Many folks have totally forgotton that day!

The hardest part of work was .... I had worked for a funiture liquidation company. We travelled and closed furniture stores for various reasons (i.e., going out of business, bankruptcy, chapter 13, etc)...and within the sale, we had the rug guys come in and sell their perisan rugs. Many of these guys did not speak English and if they did, it was very little.

There was alot of tension around the office following that. Mike, who ran the Rug Department and was an American Citizen, but born in Persia (he was in his late 50's then), was a really nice guy and I had work other sales with him. I remember him coming back from lunch and he told me and a few others, how he and his workers were pulled over and questioned and searched. I trusted Mike, as I knew him for many years, however, the guys that worked for him, I wasn't too sure about....that fear was setting in.

I remember my son calling me at work, because in his little mind, he could not understand where the plane crashed in Pennsylvania to where Mommy was.

In 2004, I took my boys to NYC and we walked all around Ground Zero. To think, I saw the tower's being built, never ever thinking I would see them fall!

Last year at work, I made myself a memorial for me to wear and I made one for each of my co-workers (I work in a grocery store, I work with alot of folks!)...and everyone wore them!! That made me feel real good! Well, this year I walked in with mine, as I will wear it every year, and quite a few asked if I made them one. I told them I didn't do it this year, hoping they would remember themselves. The girl in floral took out her red, white and blue ribbon and gave everyone a strip of ribbon to wear.

Here is a pic of the one I made last year and wore again this year. Of course, I added the pins I wore on 911's previous, my co-workers did not have the pins on theirs.

God Bless All those who served and still serve...as well to all the NYFD and NYPD and all emergency personnel and even the citizens who stepped in!
Annmarie

PS: Each pin has a meaning to me...
The Cross on the top is GOD FIRST
The red, white and blue angel is for all the people lost on 911
The American flag is for the country that I love and proudly served.
The Twin Towers is in rememberance of a marvel I witness being built and then seeing fall to the ground
The Yellow Ribbon for all of our Service Men and Women: Past, Present and Future
The Red, White and Blue Cross: GOD AND COUNTRY!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Hello, Old Dog.

An excellent post and all good responses. That had a terrific impact on so many people. I remember I was in therapy
after surgery on a rotator cuff I tore loose in an axident on the job. In the therapy room someone shouted, "Hey, look
at this news on tv. We were all glued to the tv set for a while watching it. I watched it for a while then got in the car to come home and turned the radio on to hear more. I was just pulling out of the parking lot when the second tower got
hit. Then there was the other two crashes.

There was alot of AMERICAN HEROISM surfaced from those tradegies.

We must never forget.

i remember what a perfect weather day it was here in Illinois :icon_sunny:
i worked on a farm and actually woke without my clock radio for a change :tongue3:
i walked up to the house at 8:45 after feeding the animals to grab coffee most everything after that was :tard: :stop:

I know I will never forget, but it seems too many in this country have forgotten. Every year they say less and less about it. Just look at the massive crowds that gather wanting to elect a man named " Barrack Hussein Obama" as president of this country. Un freakin believable, If he had shown his face on September 12th, 2001 saying he wanted to be OUR president, he would have been swarmed in a different way than he is today. I am a professional firefighter and have been for 17 years, 343 men didn't go home from the fire station that day. Over 3000 innocent civilians were living their lives that day and didn't go home. Let's all remember that day on Election day this year. Put Partison politics on the back burner and at least vote for a Patriot. I am neither Democrat nor Republican but I am an American. Say what you will about ol' Barrack, but with a name like Smuckers it has to be good, and with a Name like Hussein it can't be.
