Only had a little time this afternoon, Joe suggested one of our favorite spots but I was skeptical. You know how sometimes you get tired of going back to an area you've detected a hundred times? But this area is very large, very old, all wooded, lots of trails, so we tried to find sections we hadn't tapped yet. In the first 15 minutes I had two silver quarters (39 and 40), not long after an 1899 Barber dime followed by a 1916 merc (no mint mark, or otherwise this post would have a much different title). The kicker was an 1864 two-cent piece surrounded by trash near an old chimney. Joe found a 1917 merc, and we both found a bunch of wheats. Love this hobby, perfect afternoon and never thought there was still so much to be found there.
