Last weeks rain kept my detector inside and then I had Army reserve drill during the weekend so I haven't been able to detect until today.

Boy what a day it was though!!

I hit 2 different spots, the first was the ghetto site which gave up 5 silver, a 1 mil tax token and a Pontiac "chief of the sixes" car token and some wheats.

Then tonight after dinner I went back out to the spot I pulled those 3 Barber quarters from. I managed another 4 silver, some wheats and an 1899 V nickle. I just got home and was cleaning the silver and found that one from the second site was an 1891 SEATED DIME!!! I had to do a happy dance in my kitchen!

It's my first seated dime, and only the second seated coin I have ever found. The last was a half I found about 15 years ago.

no video for a while, I'm getting backlogged on them, but here are a couple pics of the finds.

Wow great finds! Congrats!

Great collecting day. Nice pics. Congrats

I am considering giving this Seated dime a couple minutes of electrolysis cleaning. It has a little bit of that white corrosion I have found on other coins from this spot, but not nearly as bad as some others. I don't want to do any scrubbing of any type on it and I think the electrolysis will remove the coating. The only downside is that it will be shiny when it comes out. I'm hoping the corrosion is slight enough that it won't have degraded the detail.

One addition here. The two bullets in the top photo are 45ACP caliber. When I dug them (seperate holes, same area) I thought the headstamp date was "78". I was wrong, After some scrubbing they are both '18 headstamp! Almost 100 year old ammo.
