OK, maybe not such a big deal, but for me it was a nice surprise, The day started at 0600 when Tom76 came over to my side forour Monthly hunt, he wanted to hit my field, where I have pulled two Indian heads in the last two months, we got there and it was overcast but nice, no intruders, no people just sitting in there car looking suspicious, the whole field to ourselves, my first dig was a WA state tax token, nothing great but i took it, Tom did find two nice keepers, but Ill let him tell ya about them, anyways, we hunted the park for about two hours and all I pulled was another WA State tax token, and some clad. We decided to go Freestyiling and see what we could find, I have had my eye on an old looking foundation, so we hit that and I started off with a 53 wheatie and an old toy gun, not much else for me except 15 more Zincolns, I said lets go hit another old park that I know about, after about 20 minutes a gentleman came over to see how we were doing and started telling us about the history and an old school, I asked him how old his house was and he replied 1936, do you want to search my back yard? do fish like water? hell yea, so we went over to his yard and I pulled my third tax token for the day and a nice little corgi toy plane from 1944, then a wm rogersbros Fork, no Silver but it was A good time, He said I could come back anytime. Well I had to work that night and Tom had a soccer match to go to, so He said lets go hit that school Tom went one way I went the other , Lincolns after Lincolns were being found, which never surprises me in this state, I decided to head over to Toms side and we hit a small hill, the first signal I get is a solid 20 nickel signal on the DFX , I pull it up and Holy Moly a 1925 Buffalo Nickel, my second ever! After doing a small happy dance we decided to hit the road, this season for me has been ho hum, not One Silver coin but two Indians and a Buffalo, I think its time to head over to Oregon and see if I can get some of odd coins silver luck, thanks for looking and enjoy this hobby!!

Congrat's on the Buffalo nickel! They are always fun to dig up!

LOL ~ yeah man! Come on down south and try out your luck! I'm about 2 hours south of Portland!

Last year I took a trip to the Wenatchee area and did some detecting. No silver coins for me, but several wheats, clad, and a few 'keepers'! It was fun but I wish I had more time to scope out some good places!

If there was a Buff in the ground there has to be more there. I would go back and hit that spot again. Congrats.

Cool finds!! Congratulations on the Buffalo!!

Sounds like my "successes" of late. Not much of anything to report. I sat at my desk the other night sulking, counted 106 wheats I've dug and thought "ya know you'd think with all those wheats I'd have more silvers beside them" But no, 2 quarters and 10 dimes to go with them. Am not sure if anyone else looks at it this way but to me that seems like a low ratio.
I always get thrilled finding wheats early thinking if there are wheats then there should be some other change of the same era but, alas, it is not the case lately. The other day I found ten pennies, the only thing thrilling is six of the 10 were wheats, I guess that's a win. First signal I dug was a 1910 so my hopes were high...for a bit.

I think I need to get up the nerve to start knocking on doors. I'm not real good at this and not a very friendly looking person most of the time.

Thanks for the story, enjoyed reading it. Congrats on the buff. I still haven't found one. Only started in Mar. so it will come.
