All Treasure Hunting
I hadn't hunted in 2 1/2 weeks because my back has been bugging me.

So I needed this.

Worked the surf from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The dry from 2 p.m.-4 p.m.

The surf pirates really plundered over the holiday weekend. I only found .12 (dime and 2 pennies) in the water, the rest was in the dry.

Finds straight from the pouch

Don't get me wrong. I like to find gold :icon_pirat: But for me the best part is just being on the beach and getting needed exercise. HH Ralph

I hear ya. I don't really need the exercise, but enjoying the beach scenery is half of the appeal. I got rained on today for about 40 minutes. After the sun came back out, a pod of dolphins (10 or 12 of them) went cruising through the swim area. I've seen dolphins before, but usually only 1 or 2. It was cool to see.

Nice variety of finds Willie

Although I very rarely get out to detect beaches (since here in Toronto the beaches are cr@p!). I must agree with the comments here that just being out, whether it's a scenic beach, with the wind and the seas, or just a nice little quiet park for a well needed relaxing detecting session. You can't beat the quiet and the peacfulness that you get from detecting.

For me also, it's never really been about the quality of the finds, (although I'd rather find a gold ring than a pull tab!!). My fix is how relaxed I feel after coming home from a morning in the sun. Can't be beat!

Glad you had a good day Willie, :icon_thumright:

Ralph (Toronto)

Thanks Ralph :icon_thumleft:

I got hooked on detecting 10 years ago. I was amazed at how everything seemed to fade away while I was hunting.

It was like I had tunnel vision and my only focus was what I was searching for.
