Found both of these at the same lot. Someone found a colonial pipe fragment surface hunting there before. The lead weight weighs 7.95 oz, also the hole doesnt go alway through, or even half way for that matter.

Now the coin, or whatever is, is extremely worn down and looks aluminum to me as its very light. But i dont see any reason for putting a hole on play money. Their is a 5 in the middle on one side and a partial dotted edge on the other side.

Any info is appreciated!

I would guess that its something like a tool-check ID or employee tag. Lots manufacturers have employee hang their ID badge (or tag) on the tool board when checking out tools, or they hung them on a board when going into a mine to there was tracking of who was where in case of emergency.

Maybe a worn dog ID tag?

Looks like some type of silver coin, foreign. What state did you find it in?

Friend of mine is HUGE into coins, all he does is research and buy/sell coins, Talked to him today and ID'd it as a very corroded shield nickel. The font is the same and you can see one of the faded stars in person.
