I am at work so pardon the lack of pics or better information...
Last night I went picking "American Pickers" style. It was a scenario that could have literally been an episode on the show. Anyway, a formal summary post with pics is to follow but I got home late and I am curious about some of the stuff I bought.

Picked up 3 serving spoons that were not tarnished in the silver plated manner that most of us know all too well. They were simply marked "800PK". They have a hammered look to the handle. They look and feel like typical sterling that I am used to and are heavy. When I did an acid test, they came out with a greyish color, which I am not familiar with. I could not see any brass, even in the deep cut I made for the test.

This site http://www.925-1000.com/a_yogya.html tells me it is "yogya silver" of Southeast Asian creation. I can actually see my mark on this page. What it doesnt say is, whether or not it could be fake and if it actually contains any silver at all. I say this because of the lack of a red result from the acid test.

Thank you!

I would think it's exactly what it is stamped. 800 silver and that's why the grayish color on the test.

Thanks man!

I had to laugh because I picked up a milk glass "hand pin tray" that I was sure was art deco, etc... Turns out it was made in the 1980s by Avon - crap junk!

LOL, The only good thing from Avon I ever found was a sterling skeleton key ring that sold for around $50.
