I had an idea what it was before it came out of the dirt with only one piece slightly bent. I put it in a spot where it couldn't fall apart till I got home. Don't see any markings, but quite sure it is silver from the luster, softness, and weight of 8.9 grams. Not to mention the detectors' reading of 93-94 in both directions, which I did take note of for a change as I was expecting something "good" with this signal.

Did a search on Tnet and found a similar one found last year, and it was marked on the side of one of the pieces. I'm not taking it apart to find such a mark. I hear they are not so easy to put back right.

I bought one of those when I was in Libya in the Air Force and wore it until one of the links broke from wear. It was really neat and if you don't know the secret it is fun to watch friends try to reassemble it. Monty

A fun find and it is silver.

Don't let it come apart or you may not get it back together...hehe

thats a cool ring I've never seen one like it before :icon_thumleft:

Not all rings equal, and this proves some are MUCH more interesting. I think I can see either damage or maybe a hallmark on one of the thicker rings.

I found one last year and it took me about 2 1/2 hours to put it together , but it was cool when I was done. That is an awesome one, congrats.

They will only go one way and one way only. If you don't know the secret you are screwed. Monty

These are also called Turkish wedding rings. The idea was that a man would give it to his wife before going off to war, sea, etc. If she took it off to go with another man it would fall apart, she wouldn't be able to get it back together, and when the man came home he would know she had been unfaithful.
