$8 bought $80 dollars of silver skin.... A Look Inside "Weighted Sterling"
Here are three sets of "Weighted, Sterling" salt and pepper shakers. I paid a total of $8 for all three sets over the course of the last four months.
It seems that salt doesn't like silver, only the salt shaker lid with a plastic liner would unscrew; the other two wouldn't budge...until I used a hammer
All three sets were "Dutchin Creation" and this company has very thin silver skins on every piece I've scraped... One pair was filled with a greenish epoxy, but the other matching set and the shorter set were filled with white plaster.
But, cleaned up, their thin skins do add up.
