Got out to a few sites today. I hit two in the morning and one in the afternoon. The first field was a bit of a bonus. It was recently purchased by a farmer I have permission for so I got out there. I didn't find much of anything but walked away with a 1891 Indian. The second site in the morning was quite the same. It had a huge debris field but not much in the way of targets. Towards the back of the site I got that typical Largie signal. It ended up being a toasted 185? LC. #21 on the year!!!!
The last site of the day was just on the edge of town. Like the rest of the day, the signals were sparse besides some musketballs. I was walking down the hill and seen a nice little disk laying right on top of the ground. Luckily I seen it because it was completely masked by a huge piece of iron under it. It ended up being a sweet 1871 3-Cent piece. I ended the hunt with the Civil War General Service button and a toasty arrowhead.
I included a group shot of all 7 of my 3-centers. I'm glad I do research that puts me on top of these old sites and that I dig my foil signals!!
Dates Include:
SILVER- 1852, 1852
C/N - 1865, 1867, 1867, 1870, 1871
