My first nickel search of the month and the results were good. From my usual $40 -

1939 (keeper!)
1946
1948-D
1950 (keeper!)
1954-D (2)
1956-D (2)
1957-D (2)
1958-D
1959-D

My first day off this month is Tuesday. Whew, what a week! It'll be halves and pennies tomorrow. My searching tends to slow down a bit when the Vegas temps reach the 110's. It's no fun driving around in that stuff.

Very nice job as usual Immy. Good luck on the halves & pennies.

110 degrees is unbearable. That is unreal.

Boy-
I'm glad you'll get a day off - we need to see a few more posts from you!

110? I heard it was 115 last week!

I will be heading to your wonderful city next month. Parents and 3-4 brothers and sisters live there. (the rest of us live in So CA, close enough to the beach to feel some cool breezes, sometimes. ;D)

We are going to have a family reunion. Not looking fwd to the heat! :'( But I am looking fwd to 50 slot machine silver hunting. ;)

My dad has tried talking me into moving there and he always mention the "dry heat" My std. answer is an oven is dry heat also but I don't stick my head in it. ;D

110? I remember going to my sister-in-laws wedding in June of 2000 in Las Vegas, The bank across from our Hotel room said 113 on their sign. Wow it was hot, but I tell you when it got down to 90 at night it felt cool. Take away the humidity and it is not bad.

Right now here in Michigan it is 91F with high humidity. Totally unbearable if you ask me.

Happy Hunting,

Scott (Mid-Mich)

If you can stand the heat you can make a killing in Vegas during the summer. I saw several places that sold chilled bottles of water (the same type you can get at Wally World for $4 a case of 24) for $2 each (and this was several years ago, that case would bring you $48, a 1100% profit). Each of these places had several people waiting constantly, so they had no shortage of customers. Multiply a bunch of cases times $44 (minus the cost for ice) and you have a very nice tidy sum. As many cases as they went thru I can guarantee they made a good $1000 profit each DAY! Whether they still do that or not I cant say as I have not been to Vegas during the summer for a while.
