Short afternoon hunt produced a few keepers.

My 6th Spanish Silver, a 1738 half real

Two buttons with patterns. One with a spider web pattern and the other seems to be a field made with some significance but its very crude and not sure what the symbols mean. If anyone recognizes anything, any info is appreciated.

Two nice little knee buckles. I still need to clean these a little more.

Cool finds! I really like the Spanish silver! Thanks for sharing.

Wow, nice finds, must be doing your research if you've got 6 Spanish already, it's only March!

I've had that web design on 18th C buttons before.
The other, like you say looks made man with a crossed W (also known as the double V type) & a reverted S (plus a 6/9, which is odd, any Rev War 6th or 9th of something connection?). The WS is probably the guys initials. (not uncommon for someone not to reverse the S properly in the mould)

Thanks Crusader. Its time to start researching. That would be really cool if I could tie it to a WS in the 6th regiment.

I agree with Crusader. The button is crude but I think it has to be a field-made military button. At the time that this button was made, I can't think of another reason why someone would put a number on a button. There was a 6th Regiment in SC, during the Rev War.

#6 and it's not even April yet. :occasion14:

I'm impressed with the short hunt results you had.

Nice job sir!!! 6 Spanish !!! Outstanding, I can’t even find American silver this year

Congrats on the Spanish. Six FTY already is pretty darn good. Very nice buckles too

When I was rearranging my display in chronological order, realized this is my oldest silver I've found. That's pretty cool. Now I just need a 1600's silver.
