Mudlarking at low tide yielded these items. They were very rusty, and once the layers were removed: drilled holes, rivets and ornate designs appeared. I believe one is a "cut" nail….and another item is a piece of a barrel band? The ornate (heavy) item could be part of a wrought iron bed frame? The other items I can not even guess…..

…….any help?

I’ll pitch most of these to my rock garden or to my trash bin, but I always am interested in how certain items end up on a beach!

Must be the wrong pics, 'cause I see some usable stuff.... :occasion14:

The "D ring" and eye is certainly usable, and there's good steel in those leaf springs.

The round item with the keyway is a hub for an axle. The curved piece looks like part of a leaf spring. The ankh looking thing is part of a horse harness.

Thanks DD! I now learned about leaf springs. I was thinking that curvature was too shallow for a barrel band.
