Dad & I bunked off work early to nose around a few fields & work out a plan for the weekend.
I spotted a grass field that we had never tried, & after checking with the owner & buying some free range eggs we set off to try it.
It wasn't long, maybe Dads 3rd dig before a nice hammered popped out, his first of the year.
We also tried a neighbouring field (where the rape had failed) & after 2 hours 15 minutes we had:
WWI Army Service Corp Button
169? Shilling & a matching 1697 Sixpence - Will III (very worn)
Tudor Clothes Fastener
Henry III Hammered Penny - Double Struck (first one as badly done as this, jumped 45 degrees)
bits...
