Dad & I bunked off work early to nose around a few fields & work out a plan for the weekend.
I spotted a grass field that we had never tried, & after checking with the owner & buying some free range eggs we set off to try it.
It wasn't long, maybe Dads 3rd dig before a nice hammered popped out, his first of the year.8-)
We also tried a neighbouring field (where the rape had failed) & after 2 hours 15 minutes we had:

WWI Army Service Corp Button
169? Shilling & a matching 1697 Sixpence - Will III:icon_thumright: (very worn)
Tudor Clothes Fastener
Henry III Hammered Penny - Double Struck (first one as badly done as this, jumped 45 degrees):icon_thumright:
bits...

That's a nice early hammered. I'm sure you guys were excited when that popped out so early in the hunt. That's some great finds for such a short hunt so I'm sure you'll do quite well next time there.

For American readers, it might be worth pointing out that rape in this case refers to rapeseed (well, I certainly hope so, Crusader!), which makes what we call canola oil.

Super nice finds!!:icon_thumright:= ED

Really nice hammy, love those double strike coins!! Congrats on the silver
Is there any part of the field left?

Very nice! Looks like you're becoming a land mag yourself. And investing in free range eggs isn't a bad idea either if you have the chance to get such coins and relics in return. Once I bought 3 pounds of honey from a land owner in order to scuba dive the pond on his land (that was long ago and before I got my first underwater detector. Now that I think about it- I should go back and detect this pond):laughing7:

Cru, you get hammered almost every day. :laughing7: Love it man and I stay envious! I will be back across the pond in about 14 months, looking forward to getting older stuff more often.

Great looking hammered, liking the Tudor clothing fastener also.

Amazing finds as always CRU and dad

Great finds! Congrats and HH!
