I love the look of a dark gray, well-worn war nickel. Cool lookin coins! Congrats on your firsts... Welcome to the madness.

The 55 Plain is a underated nickel and very hard to come by in rolls. I have only found (18) in hundreds and hundreds of boxes,The 51 S is also tough. The 43D is by far the toughest War nickel. Also the 41S Large S is very elusive. There are others also that get no credit for being tough to find. These are my opinions based on my experiences.Thanks. Dennis.

thanks for the info about pureness of nickel. It really is fun to find the canadian coins in rolls (oldest so far 1931).
the pictures posted are for all my lots completed so far.
I found the 1973 canadian last night in the first nickel lot.

finished sorted $18 in pennies.

Stats :

dimes 2/1800
foreign 3/1800 Canadian 1987.1995 pennies, UK colony? 1 cent coin
wheats 7/1800 1919,1930 and 5 from 1950s
copper did not count them but a good amount (around 20-25%)

end of sorting coins - need to dump them on monday.

under magnification I can see it is from Fiji.
However it has Queen Elizabeth II on it.

Also posting a picture of my coin from India which was found at a Coinstar machine sometime last year.

Fiji is still part of the Commonwealth of Nations, as it was part of the British Empire at one point. Both of your coins just have exchange value.
