6/28 Box...same as last week...nothing.

You have my sympathies. I wonder if after some point in hunting an area with the same carriers, if you just start turning over your rejects. Last box into their area of the Reserve, first box out if you know what I mean. :-[ Any look familiar? ::)

Or there just aren't enough old ladies mixing there gifts into your waste stream.

I noted that the coin counter at my dump bank today had a "Non-customers will be charged 5%" on it. The silly thing doesn't take halves, so I still turn those in at the counter. I did run $60 in dimes through and wasn't even asked about being a customer. For the record, I have a CD there, so I consider myself a customer if they ever ask. ;)

Hope this isn't a sign of things to come. The head teller did say "Oh you're the halves guy." Apparently when she saw them she initially thought that they had miss inventoried because I turn them in with the boxes. And when she asked her staff, they just said some guy drops them off. :P No questions yet, but I'm probably going to spreading them out $100 at a time to other banks as well.

Better luck next time.

Sorry MF....don't give up.....keep plugging.

I like the theory that:
if you order the daylights out of them they will eventually have to pull boxes off the lower shelves which should hold the older coins.
Seems like I'll go through a lot of marginals an then hit several good ones in a row.
Order $4-5K a week (different branches), for a while and see what happens.
At any rate, you can't win if you don't play.
Patrick Earl likes to catch someone slippin and maybe you'll score a good one here and again!
Good luck!!!!

So, Georgie Boy......

You think if I pull a few grand each week from the same carrier, I might do better?

I have been pulling $3000 a week from different banks, but
the same origin the federal reserve. The rolls are the same color
and the same type of box. they are only marked "$500 HALVES",
then there are numbers stamped on the inside, but no initials,
inspections or obvious date.
I went from averaging 40 keepers a box to NOTHING!!

As we have compared, my boxes look similiar to yours and should be coming from Atlanta Fed. There are no marks on the outside, and no numbers on the insides of my, however.

Better luck soon.

I am not getting any repeats. I order from one bank, dump at another, and mark a few halves in a certain way, and have not seen any of my halves come back to me, and this is after a year of CRH-ing.

So far, so good. Maybe not as much silver as I would like (a mountain of it? ;) ), but it is more than I had a year ago!
:)
