Got to the park this morning around 7:00 and hunted for 2.5 hours. I found two silver in less than an hour. Once again I went in high disc to mainly go for coins. Eventually I'll start digging it all, but was limited for time today. I wound up with 1944 and 1959-D quarters. 1952 and 1957 rosies. A nice sterling religious medal, 7 wheaties mostly 50's. Also a fatboy indianhead. Can't tell if it's 1863 or 1868, but it was a welcomed surprise. It's the oldest coin I've found in this park. Before that the 1921 Morgan dollar was the oldest. Also 72 clads. One thing I found strange was I dug a 1940 nickel that was deep. Not sure why, I was on 8 in disc on my X2 and there was'nt any other coins with it. In 5 trips to this park I've found over 20 silver items. Not many like this one left.
Good Luck and have a happy and safe Memorial day weekend.

Nice finds Mike,

That's a nice old park. Can't beleive you pulled the fatty. They come in the pulltab range. Where you digging deep items.

Yes I was digging anything that responded in that range. It was a faint signal. Once I got it up out of the hole It would not respond until I pinpointed. Same thing happened with the 1940 nickel. The X2 responds on some items that are deep but out of the disc range. Works for me. Maybe because I had the sensitivity pretty high.
Take Care, Mike

You did very well there! You've definitely got that new detector dialed in!

Excellent finds!

Nice pile of finds and congrats on the silvers! HH, Mike

Nice job on the silver and the Indian! If it's a 68 Indian, that's a key date, but I don't think the 68's were fat. A 63 would qualify. Great job all around; some keepers and some clad to feed them with.

Great park Mike. I havent had much luck with the silver yet. Have a safe holliday.

That park is such a great producer. It's a wonder in such a heavily populated state as NJ that such a virgin park remains.Congrats Mike.

Got To Love That Silver!!!

Hi,

Seems like a great place to hunt. Thats cool, You can pick up deeper nickels and IH :o with such a high Disc on!! Wonder, why or how? How old is this park, how many people know about it? What VDI did the IH come in as? How did you get your silver so clean? Sorry for all the questions but... I need to get answers some how ;D Nice finds!!
