Found this on the beach this morning thought it was a rusted bottle cap and almost threw it out with the rest of the caps I found, then something on it caught my eye and brought it home. It is thin and about the size of a nickel, nothing on the reverse except for the reverse punched image on the front, it also appears to be tin or aluminum...maybe a label to a fishing reel Any ideas? Thanks...

Cubfan....Neptune was my first thougth as well...all I can think of is it may be the logo tag off the side of a fishing reel....

Mike...could be, all kinds of cruise ships including the QEII have been into Portland which is down the bay a little ways from here.

Check the nose...which is considered to be Roman...

Maybe that is a clue as opposed to the crown...

Re-tek...it very well could be off of one of those outboards. They also made Neptune fishing reels, but can;t get a picture of what the logo looked like for them....
