Well... I'm going with half of a furniture hinge of some sort. Not much help, but its all I got.

Definitely a hinge...but to what is the question.

looks pretty heavy, thick
agree with the hinge idea
BUT look at the hinge holes - not very circular for a pin
for an item this bulky and small pin holes is a challenge to ID IMO

Keep in mind, utilitarian stuff from bygone eras looks very decorative to us today, check out machines from the victorian era, they even cast flowers and so forth onto them and added elaborate pin striping!

Has a weird offset gap by the pivots.

Was most likely a "return" hinge
it would of had a double taper spring
attached to the pin with a spring stop
at the wide notch that has that small
nick. Right side of the coin pic.
