Yeah buddy, spring thaw. They have started drawing down the reservoirs up there in anticipation of this, haven't they? You might wanna check on that.

I feel for you guys out east Jeff, it's been a terrible winter. It's been in the 40's & 50's around Chicago for the past few days and there's only 3" of snow left.
Even when the snow's gone, it'll still be another couple weeks for the ground to thaw.

When My water lines froze & Broke last month , I had to call the water company down.
as it Froze outside & froze at their Meter & broke its cap .
He told me water levels in their Tank were getting low from everyone running their water .
Won't be any flooding up here no matter what.

certain areas around here set all time Coldest February since they started taking records.

Seriously it is like permafrost here. The Sun ain't affecting the Ice anyway but sssllooww.

My particular part of the Mountain is the absolute Coldest spot also.
on a normal winter it still takes till late april early may to feel warmth here.
the 2 story high Hedge blocks almost all sun from my Yard.
The Forrest blocks most from My driveway.
That doesn't help knowing what the rest of the area is like.

Or could it be a Mirage ?

still almost all here yet.

Levels have definitely Dropped But What you see is all glacier like Ice.
I can't even Chop it yet.

Harrisburg is predicting snow here Sunday & Monday Nights into tuesday .

inch of rain tonight though tomorrow first.

thanks to it being Lucky Fri the 13th.
I was able to Rock & Floor my Explorer loose from the Ice-hole it was in
& get out for the first time in 3 months.

Bad part, I'm going to have to Back out next time,
which if the ice is still there could get tricky & Land me in worse shape.
and in a ditch I won't get out without AAA and a winch

It is thawing pretty fast down my way. i might have a a couple of spots we need to check out close to me.

it's thawing by Storm here.

Like an archaeological dig

I'm down to the snow that came the second week in February .

I remember my nephew taking me to Marlin Meat market.
while there I bought a Gigantic can of Baby Corn.
thinking it was tiny corn kernels .
when I saw tiny cobs of corn maybe 2" 3" long soaking in a Thick Liquid
(cobs of corn the size of french fries)
I grossed out at the thought of them on my plate & Dumped the can
in the yard for the birds. they didn't touch them either
& The next snow buried them.

They re-appeard today :tongue3:

Maybe something will be hungry enough for them now

Gee, Jeff, I really feel for you guys. I was hoping for some snow up here this winter, but we had one of the lightest winters in the history. February was the warmest on record for Boise. We've had 60s and up to 70 here for the last week and a half. That's not normal! 46 to 70 yesterday. Low this morning was 49, but got a little rain and the high is 64.
Hope it gets better for you!

What was that old song..." Rub it in, rub it in"
