I’ve never seen a float that looked like that, and the Model T uses the most basics of carburetors. It looks more like a part that goes on an air filter housing. The needle is similar to a float needle but way to large. to be a float needle and that's not a float.

It look like an automotive component but it probably controls air flow to assist in cold starts, part of the chock system. The gadget looks like it’s controlled by heat sensitive sensors actuated by vacuum or heat sensitive springs. To be positive, I need to see the other side.

Is the needle hollow?

That part isn't in the schematic or on the carbs. In the schematic the float is #9550 and it looks like the float needle is #9542.

That isn't an internal carb component. It's going to be what I mentined it my previous thread.

I agree with Ant, a choke pull-off.
