Until then I will just have to get my bits of silver with plenty of iron.
Out today and hit a local spot that has coughed up some great oldies in the past but as it goes, this location is riddled with the bad stuff.
Geared down and waded thru the junk and eeked out some goodies. Not crazy old but happy to have them. A nice green wheat. 1916. Also met a fellow detectorist for the first time and we ended up sharing turf for an hour or so. Pretty cool outing.
Oh and the piece on the right is an old pocket knife.

Thanks for looking!

What does it say on your dog's sign in your avatar?

Nice finds, great title!

Silver came with persistence! :headbang: Many beaches here are loaded with big & small iron. Big gold ring resulted from my persistence in repeatedly detecting at the iron-infested place that I formerly called the "nasty little beach". Gotta get new name for it! Many detectorists had missed that gold ring for decades because they gave up. Have fun! Andi

Oh something along the lines of sherif dept. and ID ect... You know I don't remember exactly. I will have to see if I still have the bigger photo on my computer!
Thanks all for the great comments.

I got a good start on the horseshoe and oxen shoe department. I keep waiting to find my first solid gold horseshoe from some then rich person.
