From the land of the Bluenose....well Sunday saw rain threatening so I took my digging gear along with the upiring gear and cletts to Prince Arthur Field. Dressed in my ump outfit I put on my kermits and headed to the field thinking that the field would be too wet to play and was greeted by the teams just a rearing to go. Went to get my upiring gear from the car only to discover that I had taken the wrong bag as I have one for my ball gear, digging gear, swishing gear and the umpire stuff....which was home. Well Lord love a duck did you ever think you would see a bouy umpire in green rubbers? Everyone got a kick out of it with a few females from the coed teams saying I was a walking fashion statement. Luckily a fellow I play with in another league had extra cletts even though his size 12 were two sizes larger then mine. Games however went smoothly with my fingers taking the place of my counter! Thank goodness counts don't go higher then 3 and two! Didn't get to dig put later that evening did stay at a Holiday Inn and left Otto's beams on and had to get the brother-in-law to come over for a boost!

Woke up today and decided it was a good day to pop pennies. Had a Kodak moment looking up the Little Sackville River where I live and took this shot before I fired up Otto.

After a 20 minute drive I was at the spot that I had visited on many occasions as it is a good producer.

It was soon clear that I was not alone as I gathered some of the evidence with some I wouldn't touch!

Didn't take long to find the suspects who left more droppings then there is smarties in a box. Man and I thought doggy dew was bad but these mobile manure makers must have been working to capacity!

Saw the fleet cruising to a new harbour. Of course they were replaced by crows, osprey, loons and Lord knows what other kinds as this bouy is not a "Birdiewatchaholigist."

Didn't take anytime at all to dig the quota and I also eyeballed a pair of dice which I think must have had some sort of candy in them at one time. Take for the day was a watch (not ticking) the dice, a number dewy from a combination lock and 66 coins @ $6.76. Was an easy dig as a lot of the coins were just laying in the grass and I didnt even have to dig it.

It's a given that you Canucks have a lot of different terms for things that we Yanks don't understand but in your list of bags of clothing for your different occasions you mention a bag for "SWISHING". Could you explain this a little more as that would seem to have a different application down here? LOL.

Wow Leslie, you coulda used a rake and a dust pan.....

Keep safe and keep diggin'...

Nice pile of booty! Good story although the terminology gave me a headache. Love the little river picture, it looks peaceful...I'll bet there's some nice trout in there! ;D
