I haven't updated in quite a while so I thought I would do so in this thread. I didn't sort much for a while due to pursuing some other interests. Got the bug to sort some again this past week.

My six year old daughter fed the Ryedale Sniper while I check for wheat pennies and foreign stuff. I only look at the back to see if they are wheat's or not. BTW we did a $50 bag I got from a local bank. Here are our results

1303 coppers = 26.06%
13 wheat's oldest 1920
6 Canadian cents
1 clad dime

Overall it wasn't too bad. My daughter had fun feeding the Sniper and she only jammed it a few times. Maybe I will have me a new helper.

That's a pretty nice amount of copper, by how could you use the sniper? It seems like it would be a pain in butt.

I guess it is slower then the other Ryedale sorters but its not too bad. I just couldn't justify spending so much on one of the other models. I can actually feed it pretty quickly when I get in a groove. My main thing when I got the Sniper was to save the strain on my eyes of looking at the dated when hand sorting. If I am not mistaken I can send the Sniper back and have it upgraded to another model should I decide to. I just don't do enough volume to justify it at the moment.

Ahhh ok I got ya! That makes sense. I just sort faster looking at them than a sniper would I think, but I have good eyes.

Enjoy it while it lasts. When I was younger it was a joy to search cents, now that my vision isn't what it used to be, I have to wear a magnifier visor. My cent searching has tapered off since, but I still enjoy the hunt.

My eyes aren't too bad. I do wear glasses. It does make my eyes pretty tired after searching a box though. I usually do my coin searching at nights or on the weekends. I have a workbench downstairs and I really need to get some better light down there honestly.
