$ 50 million reported in 1906 would be around $ 1,295,849,656.00 in today's time ? Would pay for a nice addition to my garage . Surprised this amount hasn't created more attention than it has. I know I never heard the story. Thanks for sharing.

this is the 2nd Time I read the Name "Coin Harvey" Recently.
Not sure If it is posted Elsewhere here, Or if the Last time I saw it the Article was in too bad shape to get a decent copy

I had seen that he once ran for President. He died with no money. Couple theories on how the gold "may" have gotten there, but since it has never been found they can't be proved. Makes for a nice story. With skeletons being dug up from time to time shows someone was there, doing what , we don't know.

The "skeletons"... were probably the guys that were "partners" in the search for the loot.

Upon finding the loot... they became the treasure... and some arsehole skated away.

heh
