Stolen or not, reception of stolen property or not...I think charges
could be filed against Carter and his associates. Assuming the
story is what in fact happened,
"One day later, she received a call and was invited to the Carter house and was told James would be there to make a pendant offer she couldn't refuse.
But James wasn't there and a crowd of eight or nine people forced her to give up the pendant, she said. "I was scared for my life," Robinson told WEWS-TV."
Sounds like extortion, entrapment and kidnapping to me.
Now, if this were a hollywood movie, it would turn out that Carter didn't loose the pendant, and it somehow fell into the hands of a 16 year old girl.
When it came back into the light, Carter felt it prudent to cover everything up....
