I got out this morning for almost two hours. I am determined to pull a coin from the corn field but buttons are all that pop up :icon_scratch: This makes 35 buttons with only one copper. The copper was a very sad, holed 1806 George III Half Penny. With the amount of buttons coming from this field it only seems right that there would be a keeper coin in the mix somewhere.

This may have been my last outing with the Minelab for this year. Deer season starts this coming weekend  Maybe I can get lucky and get my deer early and go back to swingin'.

Atleast you are getting some nice buttons. There are coins there, just got to get your coil over them. Good luck hunting VPR, Been out today doing a little scouting found a few more scrapes and rubs looks like the rut is kicking off in good shape.

One of my daughters got a #130 spike horn yesterday morning. (Youth weekend) I will probably be sitting on the ridge above the corn field that I have been metal detecting. Swing low and slow and shoot straight my friend :icon_thumleft:

Those buttons are all great! The coins will come I am sure. For me the ration is usually about 15 buttons for every coin, but my new site has only yielded one button, but two coppers. ???

Hang in there! The site will still be there in the spring waiting for you unless a strip mall goes up before you return!

Good luck in your hunt. Wish you could pick off a few deer from around my house. They are practically tame around the residential neighborhoods here, and Lyme disease is very common. The doe in this picture was bedded down next to my back door last winter, and I was only 3' away when I took the picture!

Nice finds and good luck with your hunt. I gave up my guns for a detector a few yrs back. Now I just blow holes in the dirt, lol.

Congrats, I love finding those old buttons  :icon_thumleft:

great group shot there, VPR.
hope you get your venison and manage another outing before the ground freezes for the year.
i was just up in Swanton, VT picking up a maple syrup evaporator with my father, who is starting a
commercial operation in the mountains of North Carolina, and it doesn't look like the deep freeze there is that far off.
would love to see you get another copper before that happens!

Today was cold, windy and it was sleeting this morning. I am guessing that I have a few weeks and the ground will be solid. I would like to see one more copper this year too! I may squeeze in a few short metal detector hunts between my morning and afternoon deer stand sits.
