5 inch necked down 4 yardage?

I currently have a 4 inch, I can get about a yard through an hour with a rock helper consistently. Was wondering if the cost of upgrading to a 5 necked down to a 4 would make up in the yardage. If anyone has any experience with this?

I have a 4" and a 5" the 5 has a 4" ring with openings around to keep the water flowing
it will move double what the 4" will, I can still do a good job with the 4 just work harder.
I don't think people calculate yardage correctly, if you go get a 1/2 yard of bark mulch
it completely fills my pickup bed, then I look at the pile behind the dredge after a few hours
looks about the same? once you go to a 5" you'll tell yourself this is what a real dredge is...

What winners58 says about; "a 4 inch ring with openings around to keep the water flowing" is very important. So Strebs; you do not want to reduce your water intake to the hose....try to keep the 5 inch water intake flow....otherwise you will reduce the suction.
