Sold my bucket of 1959-1982 copper cents for $550. The guy texted me back saying the exact amount ended up being $344.16

That makes the sale just under 1.6 per. He also said he was looking to do business again if I could bring the price down just a little next time. I told him I am firm at 1.6 for now. Anyone doing any better out there? A guy from PA offered me 1.8 per and said that is what he usually pays, but we were unable to meet up. I see them going pretty high on ebay but I dont have any experience selling on there. I have heard people have luck with the "if it fits it ships" boxes. Anyone have a good system for selling copper pennies on ebay? Thanks and HH!

I have 5 gallons worth, would love to sell it. But the buyer would have to come get it or cover the shopping.

Who's your PA guy, where is he, and what kind of appetite does he have for copper? I've got a few bags laying around that I'd like to move and would rather sell local-ish than either let sit around, cash back in, or ship out.

what was the weight of the coins minus the bucket?

How full? 2 inches from the top, or 2 inches over flowing from the top?

THANKS! I do have some copper, but it's not that fun to sort...

Based on the OPs location in Howard County, chances are this guy lives near Gettysburg or Harrisburg. It would be a bit far to go to Gettysburg, but Harrisburg is just a 100 miles away, so not that far.

That's about an hour and a half from me... I'll drive if I can get 1.8 times face for the $300 or so I have laying around!

He said it was 185 lbs. I don't remember where the guy was in PA (I think York) but he happened to be coming to MD for Xmas and wanted meet on Xmas, hence the no-meet-up. It probably was 2 inches from the top of the bucket.

Nice 1900 Indian Head. Haven't gotten one of those in awhile. Although I have been pulling in quite a few wheats. 3 1919's in the last box. All very worn. Stopped doing pennies for awhile but I'm back now.

sounds like a good deal for both as long as you didn't cover postage !

postal workers are penny pickers, if they here the ching-ching, they'll take a razor & slice-slice take a penny or two for themselves.

Nice post. And nice profit/investment on the copper!!!!

The spoils of hunting the boxes that filled that bucket include about $22 in 1940-1958 wheats and $1.50 in pre 1940 wheats, 3 indians, $1.50 in canadian copper oldest 1929. Have another bucket half full.

Good price. I stillvonly get 1.6 cents per, so you did well at about 1.59 each. And for the 1.6 cents each, I have them pay shipping if it is not one of my local people. I can get $75 into one of the medium size priority one price boxes. that is tight, but they fit. I've been hoarding lately though, not selling. Don't need to, always have the ones who want it for 1.6 if I need to, so I'm trying to build some up. Have about 3,200 poinds in the garage right now. :-)

That's an impressive hoard. This guy said he is trying to get 2 tons together. I wasn't planning on selling but threw it up online and said what the heck. I see you have a ryedale. I have a sorter, but i have to hand-feed still. Would love a ryedale. Do you take out the wheats, indian heads, etc?
