Got out for a fantastic hunt with Rick (NS) today and while he was out picking up Spanish silver all over the place I was cleaning up on the coppers. I managed to get 5 up but 2 I can't make out a thing on, the other 3 are KG IIIs with one facing right and the other 2 facing left. One of the coppers came out of the same hole as the musket ram rod guide. I also got a tiny little child's thimble which speaks to the time when little girls had to learn to sew and do neddle work as part of their education.

Some other finds were:
an almost intact barrel tap
2 Tompacs,
2 pewter buttons,
musket ball,
part of a small pewter bowl,
Parts to some pewter spoons.
Oh yea I got a 1987 nickle as well:icon_scratch:

Any one of those coppers could have been a Spanish silver, I guess it was Rick's day to shine. The coins with the bust facing left are probably KG II.

I agree with Steve. The bust facing left are probably KG II, which are needless to say, older. Nice finds.

5 coppers, that's a good year. You got them all in one day, great job.

That's a great day of hunting. A hunt like that would make my day....or week... or month..:laughing7::thumbsup:
