Just a quick question. Is there a difference in what the 5.3 coil does vs. the 4x6 coil? Obviously they are shaped differently but as far as say depth or frequency or even with the pinpointing? I just bought a v3i and the product descriptions are slightly different on the rebate catalog and I was planning on getting the 4x6, but it does not mention anything about pinpointing with the 4x6 as it does with the 5.3. Thanks for any input.

Both are great! Edge on depth to the 5.3, edge in separation to the 4x6. Both PP great, just different.

I liked the 5.3 on my V.

Take a read here to understand the difference in the concentric and DD. Truth About Search Coils

I use both on my MXT. The 5.3 is good in trash, has decent depth and serves pretty well as a most used coil. The 4X6 is better than anything I've used in really heavy trash and at getting close to playground equipment etc., but is not the choice for covering lots of ground or going deep.

DD coils have been without a doubt my choice since I finally bought me a DD coil back when I was still using my MXT regularly, I only use two coils now, the D2 and the 4x6 on my V3i. The D2 is great for the wide open and semi trashy area's and the 4x6 is like a scalpel in the trashy spots.
