I have the stock 950 coil on my White's M6. It performs pretty good. However i have a few trashy areas I hunt and the 950 signals are broken choppy and all over the place. Does anyone have any experience with 4x6 in trashy area's? I have been pulling coins from the area but just too many over lapping signals with the 950. I think I got all the low hanging fruit with the 950 and may be able to finish cleaning the place out if I can get some better target separation.

Yes, it is great for separation on any machine but will only get you about 4-5" in depth. I am looking to pick of a used DFX and will absolutely want a 4x6 for the DFX. Not sure if NEL makes one for the M6 but if so, I would look into one of there small coils as they are less expensive than the whites. Could also look for used..

I'd pick up an Eclipse 5.3

The 6½" 5.3 Eclipse coil is my trashy site coil, gets good depth too, going from my in the field experience with the MX5 it gets dimes down to 8" deep. Going slow and low with the coil sweep gets it done, gotta love it:icon_thumleft:

As mentioned above, the 5.3 is a good choice and more usable as a "general coil". However, I have both and for extremely trashy areas the 4X6 is near surgical although coverage and depth are of course compromised somewhat. When using small coils I've found it best to cover small areas slowly and well before moving on.

I use both the 4"x6" and the 5.3" coils for trashy areas with great success.
