I had some more fun getting out! Never can get enough! Hopefully summer lasts for a long time!! I found these around some old mining town dumps. It is hard to believe the 4th of July piece was sticking out! 21 stars on it. They are probably a little common with huge celebrations they had. I have a few of a different variety. I've walked past it many times. Maybe the rain washed it out. I don't know what the P button is. As I clean it there may be markings on the back.I can't find any information or patent date on the foot brace. Happy Hunting, Happy belated 4th!!!

That's some unique and cool finds there. That foot brace must have been a screamer! That "P" button looks familiar and I am thinking civil war period. The patina on the button is quite interesting. I love it. Nice hunting.:icon_thumright:

The "P" button might stand for "Polo", which is modern as far as I know. I have modern "polo" buttons like that Ive found.

And that looks like a very old flat key, got to be 1800s, if not very early 1900s, Id say.

Thanks for the posts. I just found a picture of a police military button from the 1800's that is the same online. I have never heard of police in the military. It was so crusty, I used a wire brush on it. It is a 2 piece. Great button for the collection!

That's a neat batch of finds.. I love that Police button.. Probably a Waterbury backmark and dates no earlier than the 1890's or so.

I'm sure you are right about the date. Most of my finds fit the 1890-1920 bubble. I do like finding buttons. Thanks for the post!

Congrats on a nice batch of finds. Your car may be a Tootsie Toy, although with the hood missing you may never know. That is where it may have been marked underneath. I like that 4th of July Badge.

All cool finds. Now you just need to find the rest of that doll.

Well done sir!

Marble, baby arm, toy car, souvenir badge... and police button!

The souvenir badges were popular at many events from the late 1800s up into the 1920s or so. I believe I remember you finding a similar one last year.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the posts Tom and Trapper! I am looking forward to the fall when I have a little more time to wander! I bet you could make some good money with a fancy design and a ribbon back then. I wonder what was on top? Probably souviner. Happy Hunting!

I always assumed they were our local police buttons, never found one that said Cripple Creek Or Victor , we did find one in a pit in the creek years ago that said Denver Police, our local fire department buttons have an FD in the same fancy script, back in the day I found one piece of a two piece buckle that said police but not Cripple Creek. Wish your ribbon badge had a town name and date on it ! Congrats on a good hunt ! Oh ,never have seen a foot brace like that before

In my book....'Over the top' on those really nice finds.
The old truck is a very cool find + the rest of it...Great !
