I found a 45/70 rifle cartridge, 2- 5 in 1 cartridges, 2- shotgun cartridges, and a 1946-s wheat penny in corringanville California, where they used to shoot the movies Gunsmoke, Fort Apache, Tom mix, and actors like John Wayne and Ronald Regan used to star in movies. Before it was a movie site it was the stadge coach route between ventura and Los Angeles from 1850- 1900. The movie makers were said to be there around the 1930's to 1960's. I've found cartridges like; 45/70, 45 govt. 44-40, 45 colt, 45 auto, 38 shorts, longs, 5 in 1, 30-06, 303 british, lots of shotgun shells casings of many different makes. The whole area burned to a crispy critter in the late summer of 2003 and made it a treasure hunters dream because all the brush and weeds went up in smoke, only problem is that it was already picked over before I got there. I did find a good one they missed, a 1942 Walking Liberty Half laying on top of the ground like a gray disc for who knows how long.
