Archeologists find buried hoard of Byzantine coins hidden during invasion.

"Forty-four pure gold coins were recently found hidden in a wall during excavations at the Banias archaeological site within the Hermon River nature reserve in the north of the country, the Israel Antiques Authority said Monday.
The hoard, weighing about 170 grams, was found stashed within the base of an ashlar stone wall."

Great discovery. I believe I saw one of those in the coin shop I visit some time ago. I always like to scan through the ancient coins when I visit there. I keep thinking about buying a few, but never do. I find them a lot more fascinating than modern coins, but I'm not sure about the real value of them.

Just ABSOLUTELY AMAZING :)
