43rd Silver coin of 2013 as well as silver coins so far for August:
Been working hard for these few pieces. Also shown a few wheats and a big East Africa 10 cent coin from 1945 that were found today with my friend Janis Berzins.He found a couple of really nice old enameled insurance badges. The digging conditions have caused me to nick a few of these: the ground is like concrete and/or the coins are mixed in with nails and other junk. It sure makes it hard to pinpoint well. When I can't locate the target well with the pinpointer I have started using my plastic "CIA letter opener" to feel around in the dirt (instead of my rounded steel probe) . The Lesche digger is indispensable but it is not in the least forgiving when it hits a coin.

Thanks for all the positive comments: this has been, by far, the best year I've ever had. There are a few guys on FB that have 130+ silver coins this year! That I find amazing AND they hunt parks! I'd love to find a park that gave up even one silver coin(the last silver coin I found in a park was in 1995).

Never have found one of those! A capped bust find would probably require a change of shorts for me! I've managed 6 Barbers this year (3 dimes, 2 quarters and a half) Never thought I'd find that many. Keep hunting for that silver!

I hunt almost all private property as I find little to nothing elsewhere (I found one wheat penny at a park and one silver Roosevelt dime near a sidewalk this year. All of my other finds are from yards)
