We had a great meeting last night! We had 18 people and a guest
speaker from WWATS.org Bruce Harris, Bruce explained what WWATS is
all about and some great info on gold hunting and metal detecting.
Bruce donated a few prizes's for our club raffle.
I was lucky enough to win a copy of Bruce's book. The new find of
the month board worked great. It is a dry erase board that I added
pin striping for each catagorey. The board is a dry erase board and
what I like about it is there is room for you to write something
about your find.
I will add a pic of it under Meeting pics. The finds of the month
competition was really tough this month. Some really nice finds were
presented.
Ron Bunch won the relic catagorey with a very old Polmolive Colgate
token, Steve Russell and myself tied for second. Steve had a rare
button and I had a CW era necklace pendant.
New member Jeremy Denning won the relic catagorey with a civil war
poker chip. Nice going Jeremy! The coin catagorey was a close one
with Chris Russell's 36 nickel beating my shield nickel, dang it! The
over all find of the month went to Jeremy Denning with the civil war
poker chip.
Congratulations to all the winner's. The spring hunt was discussed
and a hunt flier was produced and passed out. The date is May 17th.
Larry Cooper and I worked out the details and Chris helped to produce
it, thanks guy's.
Larry Cooper held a informitive discussion on coin hunting giving us
several neat tips. All in all a really great meeting! See you all
next month, and good luck huntin! Tim
