Got out in the woods and a couple fields over the nice weekend. Went with a buddy who found nothing but coppers, guess I was lucky. Found the ring thing up on a hill . Maybe some experts can help with Id. It fits on my pinkie finger for size reference. The coins are 2 1808 6 kreuzers , an 1844 3 kreuzer and I'm not sure what the 1797 coin is, other than that it is bavarian.
Thanks for looking. 20170227_152634.jpg20170306_205759.jpg20170306_205923.jpg

Nice Silver haul! You guys down in Bavaria are lucky. Lots of silver found there. Not sure on the ring. Could be a small annular brooch as well. At least it looks like Bronze and probably has some age.

Pshh. Says the guy who's slaying Romans. I'd trade you any day.

Never heard of a Kreuzer, but it's old and silver! I think I like them already...cool finds.. Ddf

Congrats on the sweet silver coins!

Nice haul there! 4 silvers in one hunt is definitely not the norm! Were they all in the forest or split between forest and fields?

Found the coins in the field and the brooch thing in the woods. Fields seem to be the best place for coins. I almost always find at least one in every field I go into. As a matter of fact the newest coin I've found in Germany so far is from 1922. Crazy

Yea, fields are the way to go I agree.. I only started hunting fields last year in summer when I saw Crusader and Westfront posting all those cool things and I realized they mostly hunt ploughed fields, the ploughing keeps mixing up the dirt and brings old stuff back to the surface unlike for example in a forest where each seasonal cycle the dead leaves form a layer on top that slowly rots away and builds up a soil layer... If I were you I would check that field again so many silvers in one field might be a hoard...

I am originally from Augsburg area in Bavaria, in May i might drive down to meet some friends maybe we could go on a hunt somewhere! Keep up the good work
